ICTP Diploma Project Supervision
The ICTP Diploma is a one-year pre-PhD programme, roughly comparable to a European M1
programme, for students from developing countries, to prepare them for entering good M2 or
PhD programmes. During the summer the students write a thesis comparable to an MSc thesis.
I have supervised, as sole supervisor, more than 30 students from 17 different countries
(Madagascar, Cameroon, Congo, Uganda, Sudan, Nigeria, Benin, Senegal, Algeria,Egypt,
Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal Moldova, Cuba) for their Diploma projects.
Most of the students have continued on to PhD studies, some with me.
